Stormbound Cosplay is a one-person show, therefore; quotes are only received and replied to when our Commission Status is set to “OPEN”. This change was implemented due to sustained interest creating a longer and longer queue for commissioners; which we felt was unfair to said commissioners. Don’t worry, though! We’re working on a NEW commission policy that will help to alleviate this!
New Commission Policy? What’s that?
We know that we’ve had a lot of interest for our suits generated by our presence at certain conventions, or by word-of-mouth (thank you, everyone!!!), but we know that it’s difficult to maintain a long queue and still give ourselves time to rest and keep suitmaking. To avoid burnout and keep our clients happy, we will no longer be maintaining a traditional queue — instead, we’ll be doing something a little bit different.
Effective January 2024, Stormbound Cosplay will *only* open for commissions 2-4 times per year; and will only take as many commissions that can be completed in a 3 month time frame.
This will keep queue length down, keep Nafie happy and excited about each piece of work, and still allows Nafie to assist at different conventions around the country — and hopefully, be able to vend at a few, too!
How It Works:
- Stormbound Cosplay will *only* open for commissions 2-4 times per year.
- We will *only* take as many commissions that can be completed in a 3-month time frame.
- What does this mean? — Essentially, we will only select designs that can be completed in a specific time frame. For instance, a basic Mini Partial or Full Partial can be completed in 1 month, but an advance design might take 6 weeks. In that 3mo time range, we might only take two slots. If a fullsuit is requested, then we would only take that single commission for a 3-6 month time range.
- Mini-Partials/Full Partials will be preferred over fullsuits, but we will always endeavor to be fair when selecting designs we choose to work on.
- Fullsuit openings, while rare, will be based upon our interest in the design we are presented.
- We will no longer respond to quote requests outside of our openings — we find that we get too excited about your designs and want to take EVERYONE on, but that creates an unfair queue length for everyone.
- If you’re interested in our suits, WAIT until our queue opening, THEN submit a quote!
- Our quote request form will be OPEN for 1 week during each Opening. After seven (7) days, we will CLOSE our request form.
- Our top picks for designs will be selected within 48hrs and a Quote will be generated for each selection. Quotes will be emailed to each potential commissioner.
- Quote Acceptance and approval will be based on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are too late to accept the quoted price before others have filled in the queue, do not fret — if you are still interested, you can request to be placed in “priority” for the next opening.
- We will (at most) take up to 3 commissions per opening or as little as 1 bodysuit.
- We will ONLY open for commissions when our queue is down to the last client.
